I know it can be discouraging. I've gotten very few catches in the past two years. I try to release about once a week and I've only gotten 3-4 catches. However, there are other years I've gotten a dozen or two. In my personal experience, urban areas tend to get "catches" more often. Perhaps people are more used to strangers, I don't know. I suggest labelling really well. I put a label in front and write a little note after the last sentence, reminding them to journal. Then I put a small bookcrossing sticker on the front and sometimes the spine. Occasionally I even write on the page edges "BookCrossing.com."
